KE55 brake upgrade question(s)...

Hey,
Have read through pretty much every article I've been able to find on the web re: brake upgrades on older model Corolla's and have found lots of useful info.
The main question I have though is in regard to the Hilux/Peugeot/Corona combo upgrade on a Celica article. Can this upgrade be performed on a KE55 Corolla? From what I've read it seems possible, just wondering if anyone else has experience with this?
Mainly I need to know if I'll have to replace steering arms, strut tops, spring holders, etc. Or is it a straight swap over?
Thanks heaps for any help, in advance.

Hey, Very interested in any answers you get, or what you've found on the web regarding this topic. I have a 1979 KE55 Coupe in good condition, and I'm just going through the process of planning for a complete upgrade in the near future, and a brake upgrade will be an absolute necessity.
You might like to post any sites or URLs where you have found useful information, of comments from others, who have been down this road before.
Let us all know how you make out.

Mate, I just googled for ke corolla brake upgrade and started reading from the top.
Most helpful article was definately the one from here though. But it wasn't for a Corolla, hence the question.

Well I went down to the local 4x4 wreckers (http://www.hall4x4salvage.com.au/), good blokes, had a bit of a chat to them about the whole setup and they were very helpful. Got a price of $250, is that good? Never had to buy them before.
Also had a look through the DBA tech specs on the discs used on the Hilux/Corona/Peugeot's, and I don't see any reason that you would need to file down anything on the caliper.. The inside part, where the rotor goes past, measured about 24mm, with the Peugeot rotor only coming in at a original thickness of 20mm. If you were to get a set of seconds, one would assume they would be a bit down on that. The offsets looked fine as well, only 1mm diff between Corona/Peugeot rotors.
Spose I won't really know until I get all the bits together.
BTW. Anyone got rough prices on what I should expect to pay for all the parts? Thinking I might try and source some 2nd hand rotors first, new if I have to...

I have a KE55 Corolla, and had done this conversion. (I refer to it as my TE37 now if I may, 2T-G etc)
When using the XT130 Corona struts, you will also need to use the steering knuckles/arms that bolt to them at the bottom. RA23 Celica knuckles are the same. You will have to cut off the spring mounts from both the Corona and Corolla struts. Weld the Corolla spring seats onto the Corona struts. Use the standard Corolla spring top and strut tops.
Or, go to a coilover setup.
Try and use a master cylinder of 15/16". I have a 13/16" which is just ok, 7/8" or 15/16" would be better.
Make sure the brakes you buy come off a vehicle with 20m disks, for the standard hilux/peugeot/corona conversion. Get them from a 4x4 Hilux, the latter ones with vented disks. DOn't get them off a Landcruiser as they are often different. Also beware, some 4runners/Surfs have thicker disks (wider calipers), which would be good to use, but not with the 20mm peugeot disks.

Later car I know, but here's an idea:
On my KE70 I'm using R33 turbo rotors (297mm) and calipers (4 pot), hilux drums on the back (too lazy to switch them for anything else; they were on the diff) and a landcruiser master cylinder. Wasn't too hard to do, and works relatively well.
