changing studs.

hey was thinking of changing the studs on my TA22 while it is off the road, to longer ones. has anyone else done this, if so is there any car that comes to mine that i can take the studs off at nick a part?

did exactly this today
swipe some off a 80 series landcruiser.
theyre 49mm total length (from memory) compared to 41.7mm total length of standard sedan studs. thread, dia and seating spline is all the same so theyll go right in.
didnt cost me a cent either.
dont bother going to PNPL in blacktown to find any though - i took them all

Ah, excellent, I was planning on asking exactly the same question (assume most RWD Toyotas will be the same). I will probably chase Toyota and price some new ones.

TN TM TR (?) series mitsu magnas (perhaps other mistu's aswell?) have the same dia/thread/spline as toyota studs too. theyre only 3 or 4mm longer though from my eye-balling them at the wreckers...
ill post pics of the 80 series studs when i get home

how do the sigma studs compare to the landcruiser studs?
are the magna studs the same as the same studs?

thanx for the info, mite go down and see if i can swipe myself some crusier studs 2moz. mite be an idea if i take one of the wheel nutz down as well just in casue i have to match it up with anoter car. btw did u change both back and front wihtout any dramas

basically the only reason that im changing them is cause of the wheels on the car. The celica aint ment to have 18's with an offset ment for a 180sx on them, hence my wheel nuts dont do up far enough for me, just peice of mind i guess.
