Do you have a stock air box ?
If so try blocking the tube from the front, top of the airbox to the top of the throttlebody.
Also try putting finger over hole in bottom of throttlebody entrance when the engine is at normal operating temp. If this lowers the revs then the idle control valve under the throttle body may be stuck.

*bump*

ive also got this problem, im idle at 1500rpm.

ive checked all my throttlebody connections, and they are fine. but when i start my car, i realised that my radiator fan is on from start.

im guessing this means that my theremostat thingy is buggered, and is probably the culpret for screwing up my idle?

After I did my engine conversion I had the fan on all the time.
There is an earth wire behind the fuse boxes in the engine bay. Make sure it is earthed properly - this fixed mine.

if all else fails: try adjusting the T/B by sticking a flat blade screwiw D in the hole in the back right hand side of the top (you will see where it goes, it is a large hole), have a friend in the drivers seat (while the car is idling) and turn the screw......one way the idle will raise, the other it will drop. but i do recommend that you check fully for leaks and missing hoses off that may have slipped off.

where are u located, i can help if you are a sydney-sider
