Jaycar Sequential Shift Light Kit (unassembled) + Extras.... Sat, 11 September 2004 14:22 Go to next message
For Sale

Jaycar sequential shift light / rev limiter kit KC5265

http://www1.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=KC5265 &CATID=&keywords=rev+limiter&SPECIAL=& amp;form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&a mp;Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&pri ceMax=&SUBCATID=

was purchased a few months ago to be used as a trigger for rpm switched devices (water spray etc). but plans changed and i never got around to building it... quite...

ive opened the pack and installed 90% of the components onto the PCB. theyve not been soldered though, theyre just sitting there (and it IS all correct Razz ). the rest of the components are still sitting in the original package waiting for me to get motivated to finsh (which AINT going to happen).

So yeah, ALL remaining components are still there, and the remainder 90% of it is ready to solder. Original packaging and all instructions included!

PLUS!!!

ditch those GHEY lightbulbs that come iwth the kit. ive purchased ultrabright 5mm LEDS and resistors to replace the bulbs (for the early stage sequential indicators), and for the last sequential indicator ive purchased a mofo 10mm ultrabright LED and resistor!! woot!! also includes panel mount led fittings.

i think ive got some sext switches for it too. cant remember.

ANYWAY retail is $36.50 for the kit. plus say an extra $10 for the LEDs etc...

yours, today only, for $25 including postage anywhere in australia!

pics to come tomorrow!

cheers
ed

From readin what jaycar has to say ive interpreted what it is as this. Without the immobiliser KC-5255 it is just a shift light, Now, does this mean that only the 2 small lights/LEDS will be used, with the first as shift point 1 and the second as shift point 2?

Or...either of the first two as shift point 1 and the big mofo as shift point 2? If u could clear this up, il take it. Basiclly, i wont be using the immobiliser/rev limiter as my car has both already and i just want it as a shift light.

Chers mate

when used as a shift light only, all 3 bulbs still retain their sequential indicator function. ie, you can set each light to illuminate at practiaclly ANY rpm in ascending order.

eg, first light comes on at 2500rpm, second comes on at 5800rpm, and the third at 7000rpm. of course you could make it more like 5500, 6000, and 6500 or whatever. its fully adjustable

you can also use the out put of the circuit to trip relays for rpm sensitive devices, water sprays, your 911 porche's rear spoiler etc etc.

note: i actually LOOKED at it today: i have soldered the components onto the board. the ICs are still set in foil in their original packaging. needs finishing (90% complete) and all the parts and instructions are included Very Happy
