it's hard to give an exact number as the response of a narrow band sensor to AFR is like a switch.. at stoich it switches over from near 1V to near 0V. the actual voltage at which this occurs varies with sensor age and poisoning, and could be anywhere from 0.4 to 0.6V.. also depends on the earthing between sensor and ECU
maybe you could set motor to a certain rpm.. like 2000 (no load) then richen up a a set rate (1 'thing' every 5 seconds) and see when the O2 response changes drastically. at that point, you've probably hit stoich. or you could compare it directly to a 5 gas analyser at a local mechanics using similar method?

Have you got a wideband or narrow band?
You know the narrowband is useless outside of 14.5 to 14.9

just like cruzida said
most o2 sensors are useless
plus i would not trust any air/fuel meter thats under 400 bucks
if you are goin to use it for tuning
an autronic or motec air/fuel meter is worth close to 2000 bucks
a good 02 sensor that probably lasts for a yr or 2 with occasinal tuning and thats it is worth over 400 bucks
after afew yrs the sensors read slower
so depends what u need it for but the cheap autometer air/fuel meters are a wank in my opinion
im looking at buying a meter from usa
its 700 or so bucks
comes with meter
i need to find out how easy and price are replacement sensors
if u have ever seen a wanky air /fule gauge work its either
rich or lean
when u accelerate its full rich
when u back off its full lean
its not accurate

cool thanx for the responses....i might go out and buy myself a good o2 sensor and use that....i've heard bosh have one for arount the 400 mark??? but i'll hook this thing up in the mean time since i have it now and see if it can asist in my lil tuning escapades on the street, as i came across something weid the other day..where i thought the car was running nice as far as a'f goes i added feul and gained power (going off my apexi rsm)?? obviously i must of been running to lean...weird thing is im now pushing (according the rsm) 248ps ATW @ 10 psi were as before i was making 256 @ 15psi my 0-100's dropped a heap i figure im loosing out on tourque now i think it my be time to dust off the old wallet and book the car in to hills motorsprt for a tune!!!

sideshow, whats the name of that meter? i think i've seen it at some stage..
if it uses the Bosch LSU4 sensor, they are available really cheap from some US VWparts site (www.1stvwparts.com) (under US$30) and locally from techedge for $100 i think for a nearly identical one. the variation from sensor to sensor seems to be ignored by most of the wideband tuners, but the MS guys are testing this variation.

if youv got a manual for the engine it should be in there . But generally o2 sensors operate between 0 and 1 v. The higher the voltage the richer its running, normally about 0.6v is the stoich mark.

the air fuel meter is called lm-4 i think
its from usa
for about 700 bucks u get meter and sensor
but just remember this is not an tuning device
u need to take care of it properly
warm it up and down if u want the sensor to last
i have tested it on my car and seemed ok
when i start makin money ill invest in one hehehe
