Just a thought i had the other day and it seems to click more then a 1JZ or 2JZ more due to the cost factor..
What would i need to fit a 7MGTE and Auto gearbox to suit ?
Would there be a easier engine conversion ?

There is no easier engine conversion than an M series into an M series.
But the cost factor will differ mainly by the initial purchase the motor/gbox/ecu.
The install/setup costs will be approximately the same if you do everything yourself.
JZ is more difficult than 7mgte, but worth the hassle if you are chasing more power.

You'll need a front sump, as 7mgtes didnt come in front sump to my knowledge, but thats an easy swap from your existing engine anyway!
The cost saving will be in the cost of the motor, the rest of the stuff (except engine mounts), will be about the same price (intercooler, piping etc). In short it won't be that cheap still! lol
Also something to think about is you have a steering box, most of the conversions involving 1J's are done into cars with steering racks, I strongly suspect that you won't be able to fit a 1JZ in even if you wanted to, because of the turbos (vvti single turbo might fit tho ) fouling the steering box!
There is no reason a 7mgte into mx62 wouldn't be very, VERY similar to a 7mgte into ma61 (which has been documented numerous times), so if you want to research whats involved, have a look for that.

Steering box isn't an issue witht the 7MGTE. Plenty of 7Ms have gone into cars with steering boxes (Crowns, Corona Mk2s, MX32/62 Cressidas).

The easiest (worthwhile) conversion would probably be the atmo 7MGE, but it's not really THAT spectacular an upgrade and you will get bored of it before long.
A 7MGTE is the pick of the bunch - I am doing a 1JZGTE conversion into my car and it's been headache after headache. If I'd just stuck with a 7M as originally planned, and ignored the naysayers, it'd have been on the road long before now and I'd probably have done some tasty mods too!
Very easy swap, budget a good $5k though - manual half cut, intercooler, exhaust, fuel system etc. I would also budget an extra few hundred to do the head gasket in advance. Depending on what you want to do with the motor, a standard Toyota item will be more than enough. If you want to go big turbo or serious mods later suggest you go for an aftermarket MHG straight off the bat and save yourself the trouble. This type of thing is much easier when the engine is out of the car!

So to clarify things, would a 7m block use the same mounts as a 5me block ?
if not are the 5m3 engine mounts the same as 5MGE ? cuz then it will be same as the supra swaps i think?
but length/width wise no real problems that could incure ?
I know it wouldnt be cheap just finding out what is involved.

a manual 1/2 cut retails for around $3000 for a 7m.

I have a strong belief that the 5me engine mounts are the same as 5mge mounts.
And def no length or width problems!

http://supragte.freewebspace.com/custom.html
"Note from memory you need to use a mixture of the 5M and 7M engine mounts so be sure to get them when you get your 7M."
In particular.
Hope that helps, hes talking about an aus delivered MA61 so 5me original equipment
