:) got my MK3 + help Wed, 15 September 2004 11:33 Go to next message
I got my MK3 supra a few days ago and am very happy with it. Oen or two problems i am having tho is finding an oil leak, finding airconditioning compressor, locating heater core/hoses. Heater and Air con no work Sad

Oil leak is on oil filter side of engine towards the back as far as i can tell

a detailed description or photos of these and there location would be great. It does 110 in 2nd gear didnt look at rpm but i think it could have gone more Smile

They are such beautiful cars to drive

firstly congrats on the buy Very Happy

Oil leak - its more than likely the oil cooler return assembly. My 7mge did this when it was rebuilt.

The assembly is directly under the filter. Check for visible leaks.

Hi Flebbert,

Congrats and I hope you enjoy your car. I have a 7M-GTE powered Mk2 Supra nd will be ripping the air con out, so I may have some bits that you can use.

PM me with exactly what you want and we'll sort out a deal

Cheers

Michael B

i cant find the aircon compressor which makes me think that it is missing , i found the heater hose blocked off with a spark plug. if u could tell me which side the compressor is on etc would be heaps good. If it aint there i will be interested

On my car, the A/C compressor is on the passenger side and is below the alternator. You can't miss it !!!!!

No probs.

I can try and take a picture of my enguine bay, but being Mk2, will probably not help.

Best thing to do is to look here

http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/index.h tml

as it is the TRSM on line, and there should be all the info there.

Cheers

Michael B

PS Have many "fond" memories of my 4 years in Wagga with the RAAF. Not.

you would need to make a new gasket up out of gasket paper and that will fix it Smile to be sure, trace the cooler lines back to the block and you can make a definite diagnosis before having to pull it off to fix..believe me its a PITA, so make sure that is the problem@!
