20v TPS Values Wed, 15 September 2004 14:10 Go to next message
Heya guys

Just been calibrating the Microtech and for some reason the TPS wont go below 37%. Ive loosened off the TPS and adjusted it full one way, and set the correction to 99% and its still 37%, full the other way is 57%.

Anyone have some ideas?

I couldn't get Marks car to work on the 20v TPS (it just wasn't consistant enough), I'd suggest binning it and getting an aftermarket one.

Something like this would be ideal.

It appears the hotlinking isn't working, just go to www.farnell.com and search for "RESISTIVE SENSOR ROTARY"

as a note, one of the MS guys got some of these as a group thng.. about $40 each Wink not sure if he can get more or has any left, but if you were local you could borrow mine to see what it reads...

i can get the resistance values if you want (if you tell me the angles your throttles go to)
maybe you could join up to the Aus and NZ forum of www.msefi.com and ask if anyone is local to you Wink

I think it just depends on the individual TPS, the Toyota one was very inconsistant. I think it was just worn out.

Marks Evo is coming along nicely, we're still trying to work out how to get it through a rego noise test with the anti lag and rotational idle...

Heh, well the car is coming your way tomorrow Ben. Well Canberra at least, as i promised.
Thats the only problem i had, i had it idling until i pulled the TPS off.

The TPS is pretty shot, only has two resistance values. Im getting a new one from Mal.

See you up there.

Dale, the TPS is shot. Gives only two resistance readings. I tested it against my 100kw one which gave perfect readings but rotates in the opposite direction Sad.
I have ordered a new 20v one from Toyota.

ford ones just seem to be crap! my XF mate has had 3 or 4 brand new ones, and they just die really quickly.... they are sealed so it's not grit/water ingress... they just suck Wink
