When engine hoists attack Thu, 16 September 2004 01:20 Go to next message
I figured I'd post a couple of pics of what happened when we pulled apart the engine hoist for Joel. I guess having to lift the whole back halp of my car three feet off the ground over a couple of months made it angry because it certainly took it's revenge on me.

These pics are from a couple of days after "the incident".

Doesn't look great but it's not too bad.

However when you look at it from the side!

You see that it popped like a ripe tomato.

This happened in my drive way at about mid night after a board meeting. It took far more self control than I ever thought I had not to swear like a sailor but I figured I really didn't need the neighbours to hassle me on top of the pain of the toe. Besides who knows what I would have done if someone came over to complain.

I thought an engine conversion would only hurt my back pocket, now I know better.

I had an ankle that looked like that for about four months, remember, ice, and if you can bear it, heat (I couldn't), are your friends!

are you friends!

With who, the hoist or Joel? I like to think I'm friends with Joel. The hoist on the otherhand has a lot of work to do to get back into my good books.

It actually happened a few months ago I only just got around to hosting the pics though. However the toe still looks pretty bad with a big lump on the side and the toe nail looks pretty damn messy.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

That makes a lot more sense.

I was wondering why it seemed so hard for me to comprehend that as a complete sentence.

if it makes you feel any better
i've rooted the engine hoist at work Very Happy

bent the boom pretty bad(it only retracts with hammer type persuasion...and getting to to extend again is an artform)

and the hydraulic pump is ratshit...used dirty refrigerant oil in it(all i had lying around)
