hey guys this is my first post , Ive got a heavily modified 180sx and i just bought this 5spd RWD ae71 corolla for a run about car, but a customer came into my work yesterday with one with a 4agze turbo in it and he said it was a very easy swap . As my 4ac motor has 350,000kms on it and is gonna die very soon i want to know what do i need to do this conversion, I was told i can keep the 5speed gearbox it has and also keep the diff and that all ill need is the motor and a bigger fuel pump , i dont want to drive it hard or anything maybe 7psi or something , just something thats a bit more fun for the street than my 4ac carby which doesnt move. Im a total n00b to the whole toyota scene so i dont know what i shuold look for ? Im pretty cluey about cars but would i need just the motor or a front cut of something ? i dont even know what car im looking for , for the font cut hehe , any other help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys

for a cheap upgrade, the 4age NA motor aint too shabby.
check the PMP-80Y link in my signature.
Going up to turbo i would probably want to upgrade the gearbox and diff - they are pretty weak.

simple. Buy the GZE frontcut or engine package, try to get the later model "MAP sensor" version, aka "smallport" available from the later model AE92's and AE101 corollas.
If you get the MAP version, then just buy an intake manifold from an AE92 SX/GTi 4A-GE and get it cut'n'shut for RWD (as seen in my engine bay)
THen its just a turbo manifold and other crap....

Hey mate, search for my car in the members section. Its a KE70 with a 4agze. In my opinion very worth while swap. Im runnig a T50 with heavy duty clutch and still the stock diff. Will be upgrading diff though very soon. Suggest running a surge tank for the fuel system.
Any help needed just pm me.

simple... buy a CA18DET and dump it in the rolla Sooo much cheaper. However it is rather blasphemous, so dont ask on this site how it is done.

I can speak from experience that the T50 box is rather ordinary when it comes to turbos, and the stocky bogwarmer diff isn't even worth the effort of bolting the tailshaft back up to it

lucky for you the AE71 has a 1420mm diff from face to face, meaning that *most* hilux diff's can be used with minimum modification! Just get the mounts welded on.
The T50 should be scrapped for a W55 or W58 at minimum, preferrably the latter.

If you want info, check all the stuff on modified AE86s. Mechanically an AE71 is an AE86 in a slightly more ugly body.
GZE is an easy conversion. Turboing it is a bit more hassle.
Suprisingly I've found the T50 5speed has stood up to a ZE and abuse well, but that may change with a turbo. And an S or T series diff bolted in may do for a while.
As always, it all depends on your money and time budget.
Hen
PS, 4AGZEs only come in FWD, so most of a halfcut is useless. You only need engine, computer and all associated loom and sensors.
