Hey y'all,
well the sad time has come, I wanted to fit a 2jz but the Mrs says I have to get something newer and stop spending money on a 1983 vintage machine. Ok then dear as long as I get something special instead.
Here goes:
11/83 MA61 4spd Auto
$6500 not negotiable, unless you are offering more.
12 months rego
white nice clean paint
tinted windows
good interior
Good BF Goodrich T/A's 235/60/14
never smashed
new Tociko shocks all round only months old
Nolathane Bushes
6mge 3.0 twin cam. rebuilt head, very reliable and very torquey.
No head gasket worrries with this motor. Torque like you FWD 4cyl boys only dream of.
extractors and 2.5 inch system
LSD
K&N
Climate control (aircon)
cruise control
10 stacker
Two things go bad on MA61's, rust and power steering..
read on....
very little rust if any (yep she gets parked inside day and night)
Recon steering rack only months ago
I was told by a fellow MA61 owner that my car would be a perfect candidate for modding as the body and mechanicals are in such good nick.
245,000 k's she has only done around 10,000 a year since new lived very well and has been serviced every 5000 k's I have all receipts for all work done and have never cut corners.
I will be advertising it for $7999 in the real world, a Toymods member can have it for $6500 no negotiation down from there.
So, you can have a good solid project car that will last for years or have a great handling, fun, comfortable daily driver that will give you no trouble ever and can scare commodores.
ta
ant

Would I transport interstate??
That would be risky for both of us..
I could be full of sh*t and you may not buy it when I get there.
If You found a good V8 Soarer for around 12-13k that I could buy in your city, there could be a good chance though.

cheers Jaze, I really wanted to stay in the MA61 club, but there ya go. Glen and I had a good look at a 1jzT conversion the other week, but it was built into a real clunker with all the probs I had already ironed out in mine ![Sad](images/smiley_icons/icon_sad.gif)

yup that was it alright.
rusty hatch
stuffed suspension (in every way)
blue smoke
noisy OTT fuel pump
no power steering
disconnected petrol breather hose
annoying brass button clutch etc etc
it was pretty clean in lots of ways though...
I missed most of that, I was turbo MA61 struck... I even said "I'll take it as long as you get it engineered"
Then Glen saved me.
Still I was tempted to take it and do a major parts swap with mine....but nah not worth all the trouble and expense.
but still....it plays on my mind every now and then

Good luck with the sale... Every MA61 deserves a good home! It's a shame this one has to leave one.

Ant's car is in pretty awesome condition for almost being 20 years old!!!
Awesome MA61 specimen.
And yes greg it was the $10k one from hunters hill in the tradie. Ive seen better supras and conversions. Sure if Ant bought it, he had the ability to make it awesome, but there was ALOT of labour involved. Not worth the money investment really.
Did we mention entire fuel system with surge tanks mounted 'not the way id like' in the boot?
haha at first glance it was a 'wow' and i think Ant got stuck into the 'wow' too much and not the finer details.
Good luck with the sale and for your future ventures!

i really wish it was manual, i'd sell my supra and get this one
Norbie says that the conversion to manual is a piece of piss
any interior pics? what ecu is it using? whats the paintwork like?
5m ecu and the paint is very good...the interior is stock blue stripes and in good condition

You just offered it for $5500, which is less than 6k.
So put the 1jz in there already.

jeez don't start with the auto thing! The ratios are perfect around town, the only time I ever complained in 5 years was on a track day when a gear in between 3rd and 4th would have been handy. F1 cars are auto you know.
anyway yes the wiring loom is untouched.
