I have a "friend" who flew upto brisbane from sydney for work and got a hire car.
This "friend" got done by a speed camera doing 79 in 60 zone, stupid brisbane, he hasn't ever got done before and just one trip up there and gets done for speeding.
My question is is there anyway to get out of this? The last name on the fine is spelt incorrectly, can you do anything with that? It is a hire car so are there anyways around that?

that is interesting? the fact it was in a hire car and his last name is incorrectly spelt. he might get off. I'd find out first before yelling out in excitement

possibly get out on a technicality...or just write a letter saying it's your(his) first offence and that you try set a good exmaple and shit like that...dad got out of a fine like that

Don't send a letter, don't pay the fine... If the name is not spelt correctly, who says it was you, errr, your friend  ???

Well if you get away with that your damm lucky. I've tried it about 11 times with no luck.
Your name means nothing, all that matters is your licence number.

Okay, this is one thing that really bugs me. The word is "spelled", not "spelt". Spelt is not a word. I hate to be a grammar troll, but whenever I see someone critiquing someone else's work when it comes to spelling without spellchecking their work, it really bugs me.
