I think kevz0r has a Weconic amp and thinks its okay. Had some 6.5" 3-way speakers. I destroyed two sets bu wires popping off the cone and from dry joints on the speaker themselves.

Yeah I got a Weconic Amp (not sure on the model), and one of my mates had one too.
I think theyre not a bad amp at all! Runs my 7x10's no dramas, and soon I'll have 6.5" splits running off it too. See how it goes anyway....

hey frank

dont worry about you destroying the speakers mate, i had a pair from cash convertors (brand new, they stock weconic) and i kept blowing up the end of the speaker wire on the cone too, they are made to the shittest of shit quality standards and cash convertors dont give your money back either they just keep trying to 'fix' them which is useless

and that was before i got my amp

if you want quality, keep to the trusted and well known brands, ones that give 5 years warranty on amps etc.

Well, first time it happened, it took it back, and they fixed it, second time it happened, I thought hey, this is crap, and they replaced them. Got the new set, then this time it didn't actually pop off a solder join, it popped off the cone.

Thats when I thought stuff this and bought some nice Pioneer ones.

I would suggest to spend a little bit more and pay for what you get...
