RA60/MA61 - Rear suspension, brakes and diff question? Thu, 16 September 2004 14:44 Go to next message
Hey Guys.

Trawling through the old forums I think I've figured out what I was looking for, just hoping that someone can confirm it for me.

Firstly is the MA61 LSD, IRS and Disc brakes???

If yes how much work/would it be practical to mount on to an RA60 chassis??

Thanks in advance Very Happy

correct, correct, correct...

installation - no idea Confused if it were an ra65, its piss easy. im not sure what the underside of the ra60 chasis look like though, dont know that all the x member mounts are in the same posiion.

may also run into dramas with the tailshaft length

potential dramas with brake bias also

Depends on your RA60 mate

If it is an ustralian delivered one with the 4 link setup then your out of luck there is no way it will fit as the floorpan is very different.. If your RA60 chasis is already IRS IE a JDM or some euro ones then yes you can fit it all under there.

What he said... the live-axle cars are very different to the IRS cars. A swap from one to the other would be very difficult and definitely not worth it.

As Ed mentioned, if you have an IRS Celica (SA63 or RA65 for Aus-delivered versions) it's a direct swap; a few people in the US have done this with no problems.

I wouldn't bother looking because you'll never find one. And it won't be a "direct" swap anyway; the suspension pickup points are slightly different.
