3k-C timming and dwell angle setttings

hi the other day i let my mate adjust the tappits in my car or valve clearance now he has fucked the timming some how and idle speed and its also make a much worse top end noise. how do i turn it in also if someone could tell me how i should build a decent 4k i have fininally got the money. what would be the best setup if i wanted more toque down low and how much it would cost to do. thanks

if he has set a valve clearance to small it can cause the engine to idle up to shit, also to larger clearance can cause the same problem and create alot of noises up top, as for the timming, timming lights are cheap at Repco or whatever auto store you have close, check the timming at 2000 RPM.

set the valve clearances when hot to be a tight sliding fit for:
0.2mm intake, and
0.3mm exhaust.
this will be fine, but sometimes you may want to go a little smaller.
timing, start at about 12 degs, unless you are running ULP and then maybe a little less..
dwell angle?
smaller points gap = larger dwell = longer time for coil to charge.
set it to a sliding fit for 0.25mm. you could go to 0.2, but the you'd have to check it all the time.
0.4mm if you will never check it again
