Did you ever get your hands on a lightened flywheel?

tell you what, i'll lighten my flywheel with a bench grinder, then you can drive my car around the block, but only in 4th gear at 8000rpm, and you have to buzz every down change to 10,000rpm with your head on the bellhousing. we'll see what happens...

Who the hell would do any machining with a bench grinder? Any good machine shop would lighten a flywheel and dynamicaly ballance it on a lathe, haven't seen too many ppl's drivin around with a stranger's head stuck to the bellhousing of ones car. Besides, If your gonna take a 2tg to 10,000 rpm, your lookin for trouble anyhow aren't ya.... I take my lil mazda 1.8 v6 to 8,500, but stuffed if I'd get the limiter taken out to try get more out of it.
