3sge Block questions

Does anyone know what the differences are between gen1,2 and 3 engine blocks for the 3sge engine. I know that the gen3 has oil squirters, but can you fit any head to any model block? Are there any strength issues?
Thanks

Hmmm - good question - can't say I'm 100% on this, I am under the impression that gen 2 and gen 1 are interchangeable (head wise) however I think the gen 3 aren't (I think that was about the time that they did all these changes to the block etc in terms of oil-ways etc)

They should be...they just changed the internals from what I - err - 'hear'.

I think the FWD and Mid-Mount 'S' blocks have the same mounting points...the RWD ones are slightly different, but they can all be relatively easily modified to suit any of those applications.

The main difference is that the GEN3 (Celica ST205) blocks had additional webbing in the block and were much stronger..
All the FWD based blocks had the same mounting points and shouldnt be a problem

Sounds like all the oil holes for the head will line up. Just some strength issues.
Thanks for you help.

Would all this apply with the 3sgTe's as well?
