Anyone know why my site v8supra.com isn't on google yet? If I search for things pretty specific like "1uz supra" or "v8 supra" or other things that I've targetted in my keywords, it doesn't come up.
I thought google did refreshes every 3 weeks or so, but my site has been up for over a month now, still no google search.
I can see the google spider come through on my logs about every seccond day, but still nothing on google search.
What am I doing wrong?

If I search for "v8supra" the www.v8supra.com comes up, but doesn't have ANY text underneath it.
why is it so?

submit your site here mate
http://www.dmoz.org/
furthermore the phrase "V8 Supra" does not actually appear on your home page or in the title..
So first!
Your ratio of links to body content should be adjusted. If you put a paragraph blurb about the V8 Supra above all those links you will rank much better. Whack your desired key phrase in the title (about a 50% weighting in your title will be fine - place it toward the start) and also have the phrase in your opening sentence of the paragraph. 500words max
then suggest to dmoz.. you will be listed within 6 weeks I am sure.. it is really really slow this business... but once you get listed they don't drop you real easy.. it should be a cinch to get a good ranking on that phrase mate
sorry for the essay

yeah man heaps better.. the other one was too much of just a linking page I think to really get listed properly
Perhaps you could put "V8" closer to "Supra" in the title.. but yeah man.. Google LOVES content

Changed the title to just "V8 Supra"
My other question. Should I link the actual stuff, like it is now, or should I link the subjects, like "Engine" or "Suspension". Then have a short description next to it.

hahahahashahaha
^^^^^ whooops... Andrew (my bro) was still logged in... in case you coudn't tell lol
6ish words in title, targeted phrase close the start. What is important is positioning and weighting. Weighting is measured by the total number of words vs the targeted phrase. Position of words in the page/title also matters.
SOME body content. With targeted phrase close to the top of the page. 500 words is fine
Links are good, the home page will always rank the highest.
To get the most out of internal links, name the FILES according to your desired terms for people to find them on.. ie a page on engine might be v8supra.com/engine.htm... then you would link to it like <a href="http://www.v8supra.com/engine.htm" title="V8 Supra Engine Conversion">V8 Engine Conversion</a>
and you can make the page names even more specific if you want and feel free to use underscores.. ie "v8supra.com/engine_conversion.htm" this type of naming protocol is good too.
The title attribute of the href tags can be used to increase relevancy.
But what will make the biggest distace is relevant pages with good rank linking to your pages/site. I would put together an email asking peeps to link to you from their related sites. You will go STRAIGHT to the top
example for you home page on v8supra might be <a href="http://www.v8supra.com" title="V8 Supra">Pete's V8 Supra Site</a>
Just get people to whack that on their page somewhere. (nearer the top is good and not on a page with too many other links - but we can't be fussy about other peeps sites now can we? )
man... you gotta be hating that you asked hey.. lol. Seriously though.. just do these simple things.. once the page is formatted nice, then submit to dmoz and google will pick you up pretty soon. Don't submit a badly formatted page but, or you will have to work your way up from even further down.

heres a google friendly hint. put a link to your website in your sig (which i see it is here). also do it to every other forum you belong to. the more posts in that forum, the more google thinks that website is referring to yours.
google priorities query results based on a changing algorithm, of which a major factor is how extensively your site is linked to by other relevant/similar sites. the more links there are to your site, the 'better' google's algorithm thinks your site is
meta tags are 'old skool' as is hidden text etc

Thanks for your help guys! My site is now listed on google (listed over the weekend) and the blurb and keywords are great.
I'm on the first half of the first page for a few keywords now (for either v8supra.com, my old site which redirects to the new one, or some pics on toymods), the australia only search is higher, but for the first 4 I'm on the global search too
1uz
1uz-fe
lexus 1uz
v8 supra
1uz-fe supra
1uz conversion
ma70
supra pics (first link .au this is where I got all my hits on my old site)
Now I need to wait until google goes through my inner pages as well and links them, as they've got a lot of text on them too.
