are ae86 bumpers different from other cars bumpers to paint or something??
tape them off, lightly sand, take out lights and then spray them

the reason im asking is that they are not metal or fibreglass so the paint can tend to come off/flake because it doesn't grip to the plastic (or whatever they are made of).
i've seen quite a few cars that have had their plastic bumpers painted and the paint comes off. just wondering if there is a way of preventing this happening.

Sand properly and use the correct primer (ie a plastic one) and you wont have any troubles.

I will be using spray putty then some sort of special plastic primer that they use in the car factories (so i was told), got no-idea what its called but griplock seems like the same stuff, done a test today and it seems to work pretty good.

Prepsol is good. Used as a prep for a respray but works fine on plastic bumpers. Its worked well on Simons bumpers. They turned out real well and they both took no longer than 20mins to take them off, wash, sand, prep and paint them!
