I saw you there. I saw you drive out with your girlfriend in the car.
Decided not to say hi. I'm still waiting for you to take your car down the strip...... instead of doing show and shines....
|
lol
there was no chance
i picked it up at 1 am this morning
got home at 2 am this morning
it was covered in SHIT.. looked crap
washed, polished car body, wheels, and gave the engine bay a quick once over(still looked shit)
finished at around 4:50 pm.. went to sleep for like 20 mins .. got out of bed at 5:30 am and left straight for jambo.
I was SCREWED lol
there will be a time when it hits the strip.. gotta get used to it 1st.. and wanna take gearbox apart and check it..
wont be long though
what did you think of the car after respray?

The engine bay needs alot of work. The grey looks like it is undercoat, half finished and dull.
Didnt look cloesly at the body paintwork, but looked nice and shiny from a distance as I walked past though.

engine bay and front radiator support are grey.
the car is white.
no amount of once overs or cleaning can help the fact that it is a different colour.

engine bay will be staying grey..
but radiator support and all that will be the same colour white in 2 weeks
when i go back
one step at a time.. engine bay will have to wait until something makes me take engine out

Hey guys,
Didn't recognise too many people from here there. I only saw Johal. He said there were some of you on the grandstand but I didn't recognise anyone so I was scared. hehe
Anyway, I didn't think the day was that good. I didn't get to go yesterday but I really think the finals is the middle of the day is shit. It is so much better at night because of the atmosphere and the cars usually run better.
Now I am feeling quite depressed as my car is still not F*****G working and all I wanted to do was have it ready for Jamboree. And it would have been had my F***wit mechanic not blown up my turbo as well as my motor.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Hope you guys had a good day.

What size stall is it running? I used to run a 2500 behind my 308, siting on the brake and coming up on the converter would actually reduce my 60ft times. It was better to just sit there idling and mash the throttle on the right light, that way the converter would flash up, i was only running 3.36:1 diff gears too.
To me it sounds like the car needs a higher stall, shorter diff gears or slicks

yes, tyre choice wasnt flash, but they smoked up really well! we have had issues with not being able to get enough clamp on the rear calipers, and the tyres just spinning as soon as you load it against the brakes (who needs line locks? ). once we got it moving it seemed to hammer. flash stalling resulted in even slower 60ft times as the vehicle runs larger turbos, and of course larger spooling times. it was the best weekend though!
Big congrats to shane for the 11s pass! i know he hasnt slept at all in the weeks leading up to the event trying to get the cressida finished, but wait until it is fully sorted!

yeah, that green trans am 2jz was mad. apparently he blew up his gun motor during the week leading up to the event, but rather than not front, he bought a "wrecker spec" engine and just transfered all the bolt ons over to it - including the clutchless g/box (jericho i think ) maximum points for his effort too.
