springs/shocks matching Sun, 19 September 2004 07:56 Go to next message
Hi all,

As springs are manufactured to a specific spring rate. How about shock absorber? they too must have some sort of rate or operating ranges?

My question is for example if I was to get a 5kg/mm springs for my car. How do I find a shock that match/compliment this spring rate?

Also I noticed that everyone seem to want short stroke shock for their car, what is the advantage of of having a shorter stroke shock as oppose to normal stroke shock?

Thanks

Tom

"Short-stroke" dampers are shorter at full extension than standard dampers. This can allow them to hold shorter springs captive which wouldn't be captive otherwise.

More for later sleep now...
