At least they'll be able to hear when the delivery is coming.
"What the hell is that? A lawnmower?"
"Nah, it's the stinky cabbage delivery boy".

And while you are at it put the turbo 2.5L Subie engine in the back of that thing.
That would be seriously, stupidly fast!

subi engine goes in a lot easier than a 350 chev does, and besides, flat fours are where it's at. would have to go the subi if anything

Just get one of those 1.8 turbo engines. I think they came in the Vortex. My mate put one in his Sportswagon and it went pretty damn good. HEAPS of torque too.

superbugs didn't come with a 2.0
however mine has a built 1916cc that would probably put half the cars on this forum to shame

If you ever beat me I would nudge you off the road so you could never tell anyone of my secret shame...

that's the fun part about having a souped up bug, the look on peoples' faces when you leave them in your dust

I concur!!!
My old boss had a beautiful pearl white beetle with a Porsche engine and that thing pulled mad wheelstands as well.
But I don't have any pics.
And don't ban me for the above.

really? people are still putting porsche engines in them? most people don;t bother anymore coz for the the money you can easily get more power out of a volkswagen engine. most people who just want something other than a vw engine go for the ej20t or similar.

Having had a Beetle, you'll soon understand why they call them Hitler's Revenge.
Nightmare to work on.
The WORST understeer imaginable, especially on dirt.
Really special when they catch on fire as you're driving....and not just from the battery igniting under the seat springs. The fuel pumps are prone to splitting their diaphram, starving the engine while still pumping fuel, and then backfiring the lot in a nice big boooom.
Sorry to piss on this thread, but be warned: they chew money and patience.
