metal rear parcel tray for TA22

when i was young and stupid (bout 3months ago) i decided i wanted 6x9s in the back so i cut the metal structure out to fit the gay speakers. Now that i have 6" i want it back and i was wandering if anyone has a TA22 that is beyond repair if i could cut out the metal shelf and weld it in to my car before i get i painted.

I am getting a TA22 shell for the engine bay section shortly, it will have a parcel shelf and I have several 9" angle grinders!!! Will PM you.

what size speakers fit in the shelf without any choppage?

Yournameisrodney: Either 5x7s if you want oval speakers... or up to 6 1/2" round speakers depending on the size of the magnet. My 6 1/2"s have massive magnets and in my mates car they only needed a bit of wiggling around... I would measure it for you but as you know i cut the holes...

My 6 1/2"s have massive magnets and in my mates car they only needed a bit of wiggling around Also these put out plenty of bassy midrange sound so with a decent set of 6 1/2s and a small sub it would be mad... I would measure it for you but as you know i cut the holes...

i have 6x9 in mine with no choppage at all.
just need to fit a spacer above the shelf
