A few things I noticed at Jamboree Tue, 24 September 2002 12:24 Go to next message
First I want to say it was a fantastic event apart from all the delays due to oil downs etc etc. Although next year i think I will go by myself, I went with some friends from Gold Coast and they kept stopping to talk to all there cruising buddies all day I hardly got to see any of the cars in the trade displays and show and shine, actually when I come to think of it I did the same to them but it was my Friends from the sunshine coast!!!

Secondly is it just me or is the Jamboree becoming a fashion parade, all these guys and girls marching around in all there "designer wear clothing" in scorching Ipswich weather its a joke!!!! Not to mention all the guys and some chicks in there Holden polo shirts freshly washed after the V super cars last weekend at QLD raceway.

And I waited all day and night to see that black soarer run, the one with the monster single turbo setup and when it finally did run it only managed a mid 15 sec pass although it came on boost about mid track but when it did boy it was awsome!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Well thats all I can think of now I'm sure I'll have more to say after I watch the video footage tonight though.........

I couldn't help noticing the "skank factor" was higher than ever this year. I don't know how blokes can let their girlfriends go out dressed like that! Maybe I'm getting too old...

I totally agree on 'the look but don't touch rule'... Some chics you can't turn away from... Like this ho today on my way to tafe... She had pants that were about 5 inches long... FARK!!! There are soooo many nice looking chics these days but I find that a lot of them are 'skanks'... It's a damn shame too...

I hate the chicks that are wearing the skimpy chothing and showing them selfs off, but when you look at them or say "fark your hot" that act all pissed of and look at you weird! I just feel like bitch slapping them!

I loved the Jamboree, will be going next year.
I went to a small car show at the Olympic Stadium (Sydney) in the last hol's and that was crap just cars on display no dyno's or drags.
I was watching the drags most of the time (thats what a car is meant for right, driving it) its crap when a car dropped oil you had to wait about 30mins for them to clean it up.

Hey guys,, i woz at Jamboree..
I woz there for a little while,, 9am - 5pm..
i thought the main of the event kinda sukt a$$ ..
sorry, but it woz the exact same thing as last year.. except for a few more cars.. The trade stands were exactly the same, and the entertainment for the day woz very light, except for the girlies.. Drags' were good, but kinda gets a little boring see 2 cars go in a straight line.. . all day..
Not only that, there weren't enuff Toyota's there !!!
really, a few supra's, that mark2 woz awesome with the body kit!
Good news tho', I sorta know the guy with the black soarer.
It's imported this year and has some monster figures from a single turbo 1J. However it's auto, that's why his starts sukt,
but when it boosted (5000 RPM) it really went well.. So, i think his rating woz over 200 KW at the rear wheels.. i'm not 100% sure on the exact reading. Can the 1J manual box handle that much power? However he duzn't really want a manual if he can avoid it, is there a way for it to launch better as an auto and have it on boost? he tried the brakes and accelerator at the same time and it wouldn't let it rev.. computer perhaps?
oh, and I woz looking for some lowriders there this year, but i only saw like 3 minitrucks.. there were no mark3 supra's Sad
and no old skool soarers Sad
