went for a drive yesterday night..and today when i drive the car...my external vl turbo fuel pump on my sprinter is whining..
sounds like low bass vacumm cleaner sound...or like microwave sound..

and its loud in the cabin when my radio is off..should i be concern?

my mate had this problem..he simply put a fuel filter befor the pump..i guess it helped keep the shit out..

this has also happened to me, but i didnt know what was causing it until i took the pump out and found that bits of crap were clogging it, mine had bits of silicon, so yeah a filter before the pump is a good idea..

Im thinkin someone must have been sealing something on the tank and applied too much silicon and after along time sitting in fuel it just seperates and then when the pump is operating it sucks it down and gets jammed in the pump, then thats when it starts to make that loud humming noise, cos hardly any fuel is going through it. so id check the pump for anything and if it is, take the crap out then apply a filter before it, that should stop anything else goin through.

Mine made that noise for a while then it stoped totaly now I have a new one
Mine fucked up caus I didn't have a surge tank and it ran dry a couple of times

My fuel pump does the same. Sometimes it whines loud, sometimes quite? never had any probs tho.

Mine did that for the first time today, I always run my tank above 1/4 but it went lower today... Filled it up and it was fine.
