Conversion costs verification? Tue, 21 September 2004 10:43 Go to next message
Hey all,
Just calculating my costs for a 100kw 4age into an ADM sprinter doing all the work myself. Can anyone tell me of any costs that I might have left out?
Thanks

here it is:

4age 16v 100kw motor(ff) - $750 @ japparts gold coast

custom extractors - $140
VL turbo bosch external fuel pump - $220
Bosch External surge tank - $120
Throttle body cut and shut for ff to fr - $100 MAX
New clutch - $300
wiring - either free if doing myself or about $300 for workshop
allowance for extra stuff - $300

maximum price for total engine conversion - $2130

Check that motor comes with loom and computer.

Forget the VL turbo pump cos thats way too much. I went to a wreckers and got a VL N/A pump(which is the same thing) for $80

Dont forget thermos again wreckers you can get a toyota one with correct plug for about 10bucks

and you will need a lift pump if using a surge tank

after all that you will realise the AUDM sprinter brakes are crap!

As above,

Lift pump, $20-100

Also,
Exhaust from extractors back, $200-lots
And $300 may not be enough to cover all the little incidentals. Probably in the right ballpark though.

Consider doing all the usual "engine from a wreckers" things like full fluid change, water pump, timing belt etc... Depends on your budget, but it has all been discussed before. Search for it if you're interested.

Good luck
Hen
