I've got a rust problem in the floor of the boot, which was caused by a leaky tailgate. Does anyone know if I can replace the floor of the boot with the floor from an 83 XT celica? Is it messy? Confused

bot sure on the celica, but i replaced a KE70 corolla wheel well with a KE10 corolla wheel well, so anything is possible with an angle grinder and welder Very Happy. is it rusty in the corners? or in the middle of the flat sections?

The floor has a small area that's rusted thru Shocked on the RHS about 30cm back from the tail-light. The LHS has surface rust in about the same spot & the tyre well has a ring of surface rust, but that's of less concern.

my recommendation is get a drill with a brass brush end...
it will rip the shit out of all the surface rust..
use an angle grinder and cut out the rust thats gone all the way through. then weld in a new spot.. hit it all with rust converter and paint it up..
if u cant cut it out and weld it urself you can still do the brass brush thing.. and grind out all the rust.. cover it with rust proof..and when thats dry paint over it to protect from more rust until u can afford to have it professionally done.
