put it this way, 180kph(on the speedo) is around 5000rpm
there is a mathematical answer for this

when i was bored at work i worked out the speed of our go-kart, took me ages. but i was able to count the teeth on the engine sprocket, axle sprocket, measure the tires and it worked out something like 120kms at 16000rpm. cant remember what sprocket was on at the time tho. just cause you all wanted to know

yer...mine's got whine from about 60kays up, only really on accel, but get's really high pitched at these sorts of speeds
