put it this way, 180kph(on the speedo) is around 5000rpm

Actually it's about 1.7m per revolution.

Gives you about 177 kph (assuming you have a standard T50 and not some fancy shmancy Hollinger 1:1 fifth gear).

How do you figure 1.7? I doubled checked and got 2.57...

Wheels are 35.5cm radius + 5.5cm for tyre * 2pi.

Edit No matter got its 17.75 for radius.

Imperial Formula is:

MPH = Tire Diameter in inches * RPM / 336 * Diff Gear ratio * Trans Gear Ratio

Means nothing unless the gearing and tyre size are factory or the speedo has been recalibrated.

when i was bored at work i worked out the speed of our go-kart, took me ages. but i was able to count the teeth on the engine sprocket, axle sprocket, measure the tires and it worked out something like 120kms at 16000rpm. cant remember what sprocket was on at the time tho. just cause you all wanted to know Rolling Eyes
