2005 Jamboree Wed, 22 September 2004 10:33 Go to next message
With all the talk of the Puerto Rico rotor boys coming over for Jamboree 2005, I was just thinking how good it would be to get some piston powered boys who are able to match it with them. The only one I could think of it is the Titan Motorsport 2jz Solara. I don't know too many international drag cars.

Anyway, maybe just maybe if we could get a heap of support here and let them know about it, they could come down here and put on a show.

What do you reckon? I think it is possible if the HKS GTR came here last year so...?

yup, imagine the draw card... all of a sudden the quickest vehicle at the jamboree may not be a rotor - oooooh run away!
many of the bigger performance shops in oz have ties to the US guys, and could be in the best positionto convince them.
drawbacks though may be the lack of what they would call "decent winnings" or a clash with one of their own meetings...

The way the FWD boys are going, they might be running 6's by the 2005 Jamboree! Nelson Hoyos just set a new record of 7.59!!

Heres the big website for the NHRA Sport Compact class, has all the drivers and records and loads of interesting stuff Smile

The Tundra doesnt run anymore Sad Venom have had some money troubles with a couple of sponsors pulling out.

They still have a very very quick street supra Smile

The big Toyota team are the Bullrish team with the twin 6sec Solara's but they crashed one and there driver/engine builder left, so shall be interesting to see the 2005 Sport Compact Series.

mr dohc i am not sure what you have seen but are you saying the PR cars dont use roll cages? because that is certainly not the case.

also as for racing andra would have to decide what do to with their cars if they brought them here, they have different weight breaks over there so chances are they would not fit in any of our classes and would end up having display runs

but andra may very well approve them into certain classes because it woudl be a huge drawcard that they could not pass up (probably next years qld jambo)
