hey all, now this has probably been covered, but does anyone know the cost of the silvertop (or blacktop) few 4age 20v with gearbox, ecu and loom?
I emailed a wrecker about costs and got this reply:
A 4AGE 20V FWD kit for your Corolla would be $1,950.00, a custom
made loom for $500.00, fitting $1,500.00
does this sound right?
Any help appreciated.

If thats the price they gave you then thats the price you'll pay them. So yes it does sound right.
Try contacting some other places and compare.

apparently when they get the engine in, they cut the liim at the firewall or something. So they have to rewire it from scratch.

if they cut the loom at the firewall
i would not buy that
go buy and engine and complete harness from someone else
there is many places that have them complete
resoldering a loom is not a hard job but time consuming
but have 30 to 50 extra soldered connections could cause faults down the track and they will be a bastard to find the probs

HAHAHA!! was that with or without the daily blowjobs from Holly Valance?
Dude a 20V silvertop frontcut should not cost more than $2.2k AT THE MOST! For $2.5k i would want a complete GZE engine package - engine, loom, ecu, all electrics, g'box, shafts, hubs, struts, brakes, EVERYTHING.

I just paid $800.00 for an almost complete ST. Long block, exhaust manifold, alternator, starter motor, etc. No dizzy tho, I'm going to try to use the DLI crank angle sensor off of my dead GZE. Japanese Motorsport here in Adelaide have another complete engine/gearbox for sale for @$1800.00
