What if any is the difference between a "dint" and a "dent" Wed, 22 September 2004 12:24 Go to next message
Me and a workmate were talking about it today and i was wondering if they are the same thing.
I thought maybe a "dint" was what u get when some fool opens their car door into yours.
And a "dent" was what u get if take out a guide post or another car backs into you.
Can anybody clear this up or at least add their 2 cents ?

Hi,

I thought "dint" is just how americans say the word "dent". But, I thought they meant the same thing.

Like they also say "sem-eye trailer". Carribean - is it "carr-ah-bee-an" or "carib-ee-an".

You say tomato, I say tomayto... la la la...

It's all semantics.

'Dint' is a term used by people on the east coast. I have never heard it used in S.A., but have heard like 100 times in both Vic and NSW. Rolling Eyes

agree with 4ageeza here.

Victorians say dint.

it is never used in SA.
it means the same as dent.
