Me and a workmate were talking about it today and i was wondering if they are the same thing.
I thought maybe a "dint" was what u get when some fool opens their car door into yours.
And a "dent" was what u get if take out a guide post or another car backs into you.
Can anybody clear this up or at least add their 2 cents ?

Hi,
I thought "dint" is just how americans say the word "dent". But, I thought they meant the same thing.
Like they also say "sem-eye trailer". Carribean - is it "carr-ah-bee-an" or "carib-ee-an".
You say tomato, I say tomayto... la la la...
It's all semantics.

'Dint' is a term used by people on the east coast. I have never heard it used in S.A., but have heard like 100 times in both Vic and NSW.
