boostcut sucks Wed, 22 September 2004 13:00 Go to next message
I recently started getting annoying boost cut thanks to my gay ecu, It started after the exhaust was changed from a 3" catback to a 3" from the 'y' pipe that comes off the turbos, and a "high flowed" cat.

Yeah so I tried using as turbosmart bleeder (never buy one, there crap), this just made it boost more an cut even harder at the lowest setting. But it doesnt always happen when I floor it , sometimes it happily sits at around 14 and other times cuts like a bitch. I realize its been cause buy the exhaust upgrade, but was wondering my it doesnt always happen

what u need is a fuel cut defender. i have the same problem with my 3sgte. it happens really bad at night when the air temp is lower. i've got a cheap bleed valve and it spikes badly, mostly in colder weather.
hope this helps Smile

I had the same problem with my 2JZ. I fixed it with a fuel cut defender (specifically, a VFCC from TRL Performance) which cost around $200 and took 10 minutes to install. I'm happily boosting away at 18psi now without a hint of fuel cut, although you probably wouldn't want to go that far on a stock 1JZ.

why would u buy a boost bleeder to fix an overboosting problem

anyway with some bleeders they always peak abit more boost than required then drop back afew psi and stabalize at the boost u set them too

when its cold u can get more boost too
