Stolen from Club 4AG!
Man arrested for going 140 mph over limit
September 21, 2004 04:16 PM EDT
"WABASHA, Minn., Sep 21, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The Minnesota State Patrol pilot couldn't believe his stopwatch when he clocked a motorcycle on U.S. 61 traveling at 205 mph.
"I was in total disbelief," Al Loney told Tuesday's St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press. "I had to double-check my watch because, in 27 years, I'd never seen anything move that fast."
In fact, Looney said the motorcycle was traveling faster than his airplane.
Loney radioed another state trooper, who stopped the two motorcyclists Saturday and arrested the faster rider, Samuel Armstrong Tilley, 20, for reckless driving, driving without a motorcycle license -- and driving 140 mph over the speed limit.
Tilley, by the way, is the son of a Washington County sheriff's deputy.
Several law enforcement sources told the newspaper Tilley might have set the record for the fastest speeding ticket in Minnesota history."

the '94 ZZR1100, can do those speeds. My mate owns one and he's done 330km/h on it, which is about 205mph. That bikes got balls.
The turbo haybusa is just going to far. The haybusa is powerfull enuff as is, unless ur going for the land speed record.

Terry Kizer (Mr Turbo) has managed to build a street legal bike that posted 230mph not that long ago (it was a ZX-11 which is the US-Spec ZZR1100). Gawd only knows how they keep the gearboxes together...

205mph is about 370 km/h as 100mph is 160 kmh

1 mile = 1609 metres
therefore
205 * 1.609 = ~229kmh

pah my uncle used to have a porsche turbo and it had a top speed of 290 but he only ever got up to 280 this was in the days when adelaide speed cameras used to take pictures of fast moving trees. He claim sthat by the time the police got in their car and driving he could be in his drive way and home sweet.

Yeah thats a fairly stupid thing too say, I have run from the cops before and I got lucky, I wouldnt do it again becuase when that much adrenaline is pumping through your body you think you are invincible when you are clearly not

yeah but when you have a porsche capable of 290kmph and are a race driver in the 1980's i don't see any cop car being within a whisker of you.
I wouldn't even try it they can chase you down with choppers etc but in the good ol days anything was possible.

If you think about the implications of cops packing 250kw in VZ SS commodes soon, do you really wanna try an run? They wear sticky potenzas on 18's too, so if the pursuit-pig has got sum skeelz, you can't outrun 'em in the corners, either.
I think 330kw in a 1300kg car, with Michelin pilot-cup semi-slicks should be enough to comfortably outrun the cops nowadays. . . .

pah choppers can't fly as fast as a lambo haven't you seen gone in sixty seconds, this is back up by fact I know someone who works at bankstown airport and choppers wont keep up with that speed.
Ive got another idea too, when I'm loaded ferrari sells off two to 3 yr old F1 cars, for about 1-2 million. Anyways how fun would it be to do some circle work outside the local cop station and then see if they can chase you down, me thinks not.

Exactly how many roads are there in Australia's major centers where you can achieve that speed and maintain it for any length of time? In fact, is there actually a straight road anywhere in Sydney?
The Dauphine 2 helicopters that the Vic police use have a cruising speed of 280kmh and a top speed of 296kmh. So yes, theoretically you could out run it, provided you have a long enough straight stretch of road and no obstructions. Oh and btw. they have a service range of 800km so you better have a big fuel tank.
..and as for the Formula-1 idea. They'll catch you the moment you reach the first gutter or speed hump and beach the thing...
pfft.
Cheers,
Dan

Yeah, forget it once the chopper's involved. On the other hand, There's plenty of race-spec fuel cells around the 200+Litre mark, and something similar to that handbuilt F40, but WAY more aerodynamic would cruise at 340km/h o.k. . . . .

I'm thinking South from Campbelltown to Golbourn on the Hume Highway, nice straight I think the F1 can handle that, otherwise I'll get the bugatti veyron top speed 406kmph. Dont see no chopper catching that.

I've outrun a few cops in my time. You don't need to do anything that'd get you killed (unless you've done over a bank etc i guess). Just drive smart. Most cops i've seen can't drive for shit.

you should watch the Mischief 3000 video about the american gumball rally.
They are running so fast they are beating the helicopters reporting by about 5 miles
(so many beautiful cars get fucked up, ie ferraris with the whole front end bare aluminium, bmw m3 coupes rammed off the road by truckers etc)
