Wolf3D on 1GGTE...realistic power???
Fri, 24 September 2004 04:46
I just want to know if anyone has used a WOlf 3D on a 1GGTE. Its been recommended to me as originally I wanted to fit the APexi SAFC for fuel mixture.
How does it compare to the Jap computers?
I heard it has more features and will be able to reduce lag on the standard set up with ignition control. Anyways I brought a HKS cooler and want to wind the boost to 15 pounds.
I am hoping for 160 to 170 rwkw with the Wolf 3D. Is this possible?
Also I can remove the air flow meter with the WOlf 3D. Any benefits in this?
Well looking for any informative opinions.
i have heard wolf and toyota dont go down well. i know of a 4age 20v motor which had a wolf and the cpu didnt know how to communicate to the crank angle sensor (pretty sure it was this sensor). a special box needed to be made up for it to work. i dont know if your going to have similar problems with a 1GGTE
Bang for buck the Wolf is O.K. The top end power will be pretty much the same if it's a Wolf or any other computer - it's the tuning effort and the base engine that are going to determine how it goes.
Aiming for 170rwkW is something - but you will give the tuner the car, he will give it the fuel and ignition that it needs to make best power and the dyno will give the number - and it all happens in that order - and you just can't get away from it.
Go with the management that your tuner likes to use.
BTW - I run Wolf version 3.1 and I will run Wolf version 4 when I can afford it.
