I'm assuming dump pipes can be used instead of letting gas go thru the muffler like when ur on a race course or whatever.
But when the exhaust fell off my car i lost power so i was wondering, when i put the new motor in and need a new exahust should i get dump pipes ?

What car is this for, and what turbos?

Or by dump pipe do you mean open headers on a N/A car? You need osme backpressure on a N/A car... AFAIK the less restriction on the exhaust of a N/A engine, the higher the power/torque curve is moved. Very crudely, put a bigger exhaust on an engine, the power/torque curve is moved higher up - you loose some low end, but gain some mid/high. Have no exhaust... you get the picture.
