Goodbye RA28.

Having sold my RA28, today was the day I delivered it tot he freight company for delivery to the new owner. This morning, my girlfriend looked out the window to the garage, and asked if this was the last time she would see it? I replied yes, to which see then asked if I would miss it? While still half asleep, I replied no, and thought nothing more of it - then I woke up.
Packing the car onto the trailer, I was reminded about the amount of time, effort and money I had put into this car. Things like:
Buying it for $3000 in 1992 when it was still standard and red, rebuilding the motor to solve the rattling timing chains, writing it off in an accident and then rebuilding it the first time, rebuilding it a second time with a wild 3TGTE, rebuilding it a third time basically back to a standard driveline, rebuilding it a forth time with a mild 3TGTE and spending more time on the steering and suspension, motorkhanas, sprints, rallies and travelling time to and fro, getting the chicane at Collie Speed Complex all wrong and sliding it into the dirt - and feeling completely safe doing it as the car sat flat and stable while spinning, ... and lots more.
So in the end the car I thought I wouldn't miss much has now left me for a new home, and I'm feeling bit meloncholy. I'll take solcae in the hope that it's new owner has as many hours of enjoyment out of it as I did!
But enough of this rambling, I've got a new project to get on with!

Wow. Finally got rid of her eh? I know how you feel. Every time I sell one of my cars, as I watch it drive down the street I think "thank fu(k that headache of a thing is gone".... Then a few hours later I get all sentimental about 'the good times'.
Have a cry if you want Clint.... I know it helps me

Not having had to sell a car yet, I don't know that I'll be able to let my Corolla go.. Will be a sad day when I see someone driving it away from me..
Didn't have to go through it with my first car thankfully.. I just left it out the front and called someone to take it away on a tilt-tray
So what's the new project anyway Clint?

Hi,
Yeah, it's gonna be a sad day when I sell the RA25. My biggest fear was, if I sell it like it is, then someone will probably do it up to to full JDM spec and I'll see it driving around and get all jealous. So, I'm doing the full JDM spec myself. So, now my biggest fear is selling to someone who will lower it, rip out the engine and make it a "fully sick and wikid" car and destroy it's originality. I think I'll have a "you change the car and I beat you up" clause in the sale conditions.
However, Clint, perhaps you can get some joy out of seeing my old girl with your old Soarer wheels - all polished and painted. They were supposed to be ready yesterday, but now won't be ready until mid next week (just in time for the Show & Shine). I'll send you some pics.
Go on - have a cry, you big sissy

I will have to say goodbye to my beloved twinky soon, once I've got my GT4 all good and fully on the road...Gonna be a damn sad day, I keep getting sad when I drive it now thinking that it'll be gone soon. I'm most likely selling it to my gf's cousin so at least I'll still see it and can tell him what he is and isnt allowed to do to her

if i had a rolla then i wouldn't get too sad when the replacement was a grpA gt4. i hope that i won't have to get rid of my ta22 anytime, definately not in the foreseeable future. just have to hope that i can always be in a position to have a couple of cars at the same time
