Ok, whilst i was bored this morning i was doing some searching for information on the 503e engine, and came across the never used Group B MR-2!!!
This thing was HORN! and powerful! 600+hp and AWD!

If you have any interesting old school Toyota racing pics, links, info or anything, please post them up!
If you have pics, but nowhere to host them, email them to thewitzl@optusnet.com.au and i'll host em.

A bit off topic
but has anyone else here watched Climb Dance?
Its a short video on Ari Vatanen flogging up Pikes Peak in an oldschool 405
I recommend watching it, one of my favorite car videos ever

The Celica and Tacoma are both built and driven by NZ's very own Legend, Rod Millen. Hes a bloody legend that guy, he used to drive a 4WD RX7 in the Rally of NZ and won the event back in the 70ties with a RX3!
Anyway.......... Heres a couple of mine.....
http://www.mulsannescorner.com/toymkiii.html
700hp 3SGTE purpose built GT cars. They were so fast they ended up winning the championship three years in a row.
http://www.bobnorwood.com/The%20Fastest%20Little%2 0Sports%20Car%20in%20Utah.htm
Salt flat racing MR2 fitted with a Turbo 20v 4AGE destroked to 1500cc. Ended up setting a record in its class then they destroked it again to 1000cc's and set another record.

A little bit of black history, the full reason behind Toyota being kicked out of the WRC.
Also on a side note. I have a little video footage of the TA64 doing that same jump (well its pretty dam simular). Problem is that it started life on a $10 VHS I brought about the Audi Quattro GrpB car and ive managed to convert it onto DVD but no DVD player on my PC so im unable to get the footage onto the PC.
The Witzl, Ill send a couple of pics ive taken and collected over the years.

That Mr2 is shit in sega gt 2002 even after mods it doesn't get the same power gains as the starion and is a bitch to drive. The best car from toyota would be the trueno after modding with just over 300hp I was able to rip vipers.

back in the 60's or 70's there was a lemans type car called the toyota racing eight or something to that affect.
it was a 5lite V8 with 2 turbos hanging out the back of it. I tried to find pictures but to no avail.
might give it another try today

rob_RA40,
The car you're thinking of is the toyota 7. There was one with the two turbos and over 800hp and another that was NA at around 530hp at the Toyota Automobile Museum a few months ago, when I was fortunate enough to pay the place a visit.

there was no group C supras only grp A and if you look closely at the pics of the ma60 series racing supras you can see win percy in the back ground he raced 1 in britain and peter williamson bought it of him and raced it at bathurst till it barrel rolled near the chase at bathurst also i think andy rae had 1 as well i think the car is in sydney know under going a resto so it might be back on the track in the future
