Call me cynical, but with the number of so-called mk5 supras I've seen, I'll wait till toyota announce it
Cool as it would be to have a V10 supra with 450ps stock, frankly I dont see toyota doing that.

I am also calling in BS on this one...Toyota's marketing strategies and company philosophy don't include V10 450ps Supra's being made. At least, not these days.

If anything it would be another straight 6, possibly just the 2jz or a slight evolution of it. Why make a v10 when they still have farkloads more potential from a 2j?
But aussie delivered version would = camry v6 plant.

Don't think they would go V10. If anything I think it would be a V8. But then this is probably just phantoms again. Don't think Toyota will actualy make it. But hey if they do, cool!

they wouldn't go the straight 6.
it'll be a tt v6, or a v8 (imho), if they ever make it (which seems unlikely, considering how we;ll they're going selling camrys and rollas)

it wont be a turbo
go have a look at the new EURO4 emissions standards
i think holden and ford are going to struggle with their factory V8's unless they pull their finger out.
It will be aspirated if anything
On a side note, a V10 would be soooooooo HORN!
i would accept a factory 3UZ'G'E UZA90
muhahaha

well what i've been hearing is toyota are releasing a new genaration of high performance cars based on hyrbid tech for there Lexus range.
A V6 mated with a electic motor that puts out something like 450HP, and a V8 with an electric motor that puts out 600HP.
I hope the supra is ressurected with at least one of these combo's. (but i'd still prefer they released an Mk5 with a 3JZ-GTE

the V10 would make sense think they can apply technology they have learnt from formual one anyone for a 3.5l v10 that revs to 19000 and holds together for as couple of days. On a serious note I have heard about this car in Motor but I think it was just a concept. Plus it would prob push the price of the supra sky high as the engine would be worth a mint.

There's no doubt about that article bieng bullshit.
The layout of the engine specs layed directly over french or whatever text just isn't done in any magazine, and the fact that the rest is in japanese just doesn't add up. besides the engine code 444F doesn't follow toyota engine naming convention.
And thirdly it's just not the japanese sports car tradition to go with a V10. IMHO of course

Wasn't that "agreement" made redundant a couple of years ago?
Anyway, all I can say is:
1GZ-FE.

There have been rumours of Toyota developing the 1GZ-FE V12 for use in a high-end sports car (not necessarily the Supra, but maybe). That engine must have cost them a fortune to develop, so it makes sense they'd want to get more out of their investment than a handful of limited-run Century's.
Oh and the car in that article looks way too much like a MkIV Supra. If the MkV ever gets released you can bet your bottom dollar it will be totally unlilke anything Toyota have released to date. Does anyone remember how radical the MkIV was when it was released? (Most of you young'uns probably don't ) There was a huge media frenzy, everyone was talking about how over-the-top it was. It seems hard to imagine these days I know, but put a MkIV next to a MkIII and you can sort of see why. Expect a similar reaction if and when the MkV arrives!

Why are the engine specs printed over an article about F1 engines?

Although it's just a bogey by the looks of it, it would make a lot of sense for Toyota to make a V10 sports car given their involvement in F1. That would leave the 1GZ for a supercar if they decided they wanted to have a crack at that, lord knows they have the money to.

Actually, I'm cringing in fear and ready to vomit in terror imagining what a new "radical" design is after seeing that pile of puke that they got those kids to design for that show car. Bling bling motherbitches.

I like the idea of short stroke V10s. I'm not sure what it is about 'em but the concept just does something for me. Like the new BMW engine.
