Was a single Turbo 1G-GTE ever released? Sat, 25 September 2004 10:18 Go to next message
I thought they were all Twins, apart from the GZE that was supercharged.....

Mate has one at his workshop with a single (genuine toyota) Turbo on it. Looks bog stock.

Have Googled 1g-gte and all i find have 2 turbos.

anyone know for sure? Cheers.

could be an aftermarket manifold (HKS) with a CT20 or CT26 on it?

tends to be authoritative and useful...

There are a few over here, but I can understand what you're saying, they're never going to have the same sort of kick when lumbering around a barge-ass GA70 body Laughing

1G-GTE with a 2.4L stroker kit would be nice I bet!

Nah it wouldn't rev like a 1G, so in that case a 1JZGTE would be much nicer, not to mention cheaper.

1G with nice turbo setup would be perfect, tiny, light and revvy Smile

A nice GT25 should suit it well, no doubt probably come on boost faster than the factory twins, and have uber top end.

WRX's have that problem cos they usually have a larger plain bearing turbo and the EJ20 is uber over-square.
