Is it still possible to easily buy fireworks in Canberra, in particular Fyshwick?
I have a mate going to Canberra this week and he wanted to buy some. I told my mate that he'd find it hard to get any now... Am I right?

Dont know about this time of year if you still can buy or not . But you have to be a local to buy , with drivers licence to prove it , so then all you do is wait outside and ask everybody going in to buy you some .
If you still can buy now let us know as my last bag is just about used up .

Yeah, I have used all the ones I got in January too. Stupid laws. Why did they have to go change it for.

I want to know if you can still buy them... I don't think you were ever allowed to actually use them.
It was heaps of fun when I had the crackers... They were only tiny but were waterproof and would blow tiny craters in the ground if you poked them into the mud. They make a cool thud noise when they explode underwater... you can feel it through the ground.
The way you light these crackers is like a match. Strike them on a matchbox... So they are way less dodgy than the old ones with fuses.
I never bought any big ones (the ones I had were 7-8mm dia, 100mm long). The rockets we bought were cheapies and didn't fly straight or high.
*Sigh* I miss my fireworks.

you can buy them during the queens birthday so i was told, i think around june season for 1 week, and thats when they are allowed to sell, if you let off a firework without permit its like a 11,000-15,000 fine i forgot what he said, and he said that you could probably get away doing it on a farm. Any other time of the year there not allowed to sell them. And he then proceeded to give me a free demo copy of x-rated dvd, with that notice of fireworks on the front cover, also pointing out his vast collection of porn and making it seem he was very proud and professional.
