i had a idea.......i think it might be good.... the 1G series is available with supercharger and turbo/twin what if you used the supercharger to take care of low down boost+ increase torque then coupled it to a big turbo to take care of the upper end of things. ie run the output of the supercharger to the inlet of the turbo and then the turbo to intercool;er then the intercooler to the inlet man. perhaps even twin intercoolers? what do you guys think of this idea.

its called twin charging, and the 1G actually had a twin charged model, i dunno if it was factory or a HKS kit but there was one, and from what i hear, it is WAY too much stuffing around, u would be better off spending your money on a new turbo/s setup thats been tuned to meet your specifications...
in short, u will never get it working properly, and if u do you would have spent WAY too much on it...

the mechanichs of it are not hard: fit the factory nsupercharger to the twin turbo model run the out pipe from the supercharger into the inlet for the turbos, which should get some good response low down and its only 400 bucks for the supercharger i could do it myself

Simple in theory but as Rob said not worth it!! Its simple to plumb the supercharger into the turbo plumbing but what happens when your supercharger is pumping only say 6psi and the turbo's pump 10psi? The extra 4psi blows down into the supercharger!! (and dont even think about having them both make the same boost, wont work either!) You need to install a valve which bypasses the blower when the turbo comes on boost. A larger turbo and aftermarket computer would have heaps more capability and would cost the same in the end. There was a twin charging kit made for the 4AGZE but was very expensive and didnt give huge gains. Jamie

Ha ha no worries. If you want something different why dont you convert a 1J to triple carbs and put a blow through turbo setup? I bet noone else will do that one Just kidding.
