1g-gte clutch renewal

Hi again all, when it comes to clutches I am pretty much out of my depth. Before I put the engine and g/box into my ute I want to renew the clutch, should I just use the standard replacement or do they not perform well enough? Its a gen3 1ggte, all stock.
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated, also does anyone know part numbers etc for clutch replacement?
Thanks all.

I got my clutch done in anticipation of it receiving a rough time with a bit more power than stock
Cost me $420 and that included uprating the pressure plate, heavy duty clutch plate, machined flywheel and new thrust bearing.

I replaced my clutch for a simlar amount, I got a 5 puck brass button clutch, way better pressure plate, machined fly wheel, spigot bearing and thrust bearing. Easy to put on and way better than standard. With that said, I punished my standard clutch, and it died a fairly quick death.

EvilTITS 670kg approx. I would defnitly think about replacing the stock clutch, mine started slipping with stock boost, though i have a single turbo setup. I now run a 9 puck cushion button with a much heavier clamp load and am much happier with that in there. I would recomend that you do it with the motor out, ive done it while it was all in the car and also when done it when it was out of the car and i know what choice i would take if asked to do it again.
Cheers Adam

Apparently there are two size clutches for the 1G series... 9" and 9.5"
Might pay to measure then buy.

Just do what I do, don't ask for it by name, take the whole thing in and tell them what you want, they'll work it out

HyDrA
I have a Adelaide Clutch / Xtreme clutch from a mr2 in mine, is the 9.5 inch version however i had to modify my slave cyl position just because i could not get enough throw out of the clutch to disengage it. Some food for thought.
