Leak somewhere around the thermostat *HELP!!!*

Hey all
i've spent 2 days trying to fix this problem but i cant seem to find where my leak is coming from.
In my 4AC:
my thermostat blew and when i drive my car short distances pressure comes out of the thermostat somewhere, i've checked the housing, gasket and thermostat itself but cant seem to find where its leaking from.
If i drive longer distances *around 10 - 20km*, pressure and coolant starts to piss out of the thermostat somewhere...
I've replaced the thermostat and thermostat gasket with new ones, sealed it with gasket sealant and still ends up leaking somewhere....*taken thermostat out numerous times btw*
Has anyone had this problem before that can help me with this very very annoying problem?
ANYTHING ANYONE CAN PROVIDE WILL HELP!!
Cheers

You might have cracked the housing or have you used the sealant on the bolts ? This is a common 4ac problem . If you need another housing etc , i am sure to have a few somewhere .

Hmmm i suspected it to be a cracked housing but i've tried a different housing off my friends 4ac yesterday that he gave me and it still leaks....
I've used a shitload of sealant around the sides of the housing, where the bolts are, even in the holes for the bolts before putting it on, around the gasket and edges and still leaks...
I felt it before and it seems to be leaking from behind the housing.......??

i just tried filling up my radiator again and it was still leaking after sealing it this morning, so i took off my nuts for the bolts to replace them with non-sealant covered nuts and when my housing came off the bolt and a big piece of the engine cracked off...
does anyone know whats that called? the thing that has the bolt coming out of it for the housing to join up to.?
can it be replaced or is this gona be a bitch of a problem to fix?
cheers

Choony, by "block" I mean engine block dude! There is a hole on the front of the block above the crank pulley which your housing seals onto with an o-ring. the rest of the housing just bolts to the engine block from what I can remember. What exactly broke off?

well from what you say ae86slut, one of the housing bolts thats bolted into the engine block has snapped off along with a piece of the engine block around 35mm long...the other bolt for the housing is stil on there...
im holding the broken piece in my hand and its providing me with no love whatsoever...
would u lyk a pic of the broken bolt and engine block? i will take one now.....jus for future rememberance

Yeah, if you can, take a pic of where it broke off and make sure you get some of the surrounding area in the shot too.
