4AGZE camshafts

Any of you guys running 4AGZE done any experimenting with cams rather than just increasing boost by replacing crankshaft pulley for a bigger one. Can't see any reason why GZE would not benefit from hotter cams than stock. Anybody who has already done this share a bit of the knowledge gained and tell me how it went. I am planning on 258 duration,0.340" lift in combination with nevo 164mm pulley. Any ideas

A popular option is to put in the cams from a bigport 4age, they are 240 duration with a little more lift than the std 232 gze cams.

Is the reason they use bigport cams because they are easy to get and relatively inexpensive or because they are the best choice. It can't be because you need short duration cams for the GZE because GZE's don't require the exhaust pressures to remain high like a turbo does. I know all the brand name cams HKS, TODA, TRD are expensive and don't appear easy to get hold of, but Ivan Tighe Engineering in Brisbane can grind up a new set of billets for them.

the bigport cams are perfect..changing the inlet will have the greatest effect..not much on the exhaust..rather then get custom cams..get some adj cam gears..and minimse overlap (you will need to reset your timing as it runs off the exhaust cam) i have done alot of reaserch in this field..my mate here at work..worked for Tighe cams for 7 years..the best they had.. Dean (the boss) used to ask him questions!! we have discussed it and found that the ideal duration & lift, is pretty much a stock bigport cam.. just need to tune it to the right place..

and what is that right place for cam timing with turbo/GZE & bigport cams? I've found 110 110 best on mine, but need to do some more experimentation...

hey there all, r u changing the inlet and exhaust cams to both bigport 4age's or just the inlet side?????
if u change the cams over and use standard cam gears will that be ok, or do u recomend adjustables?
if standard just noraml timing right?
