Injectors Tue, 28 September 2004 05:59 Go to next message
Hi, I'm new at this board.

I have a current project of a hi-comp 4ag on a toyota starlet kp61.
It's using a Tec-II unit but my mechanic said I need low impedance injectors. Less than 3 ohms. Does anyone know how much ohms injectors for most common toyota motors have and or other non toyota that may have less than 3 ohms. He also mentioned using
Mazda GXL injectors.

Thanks!

Genoshin, the 7M-GTE engines use 2.9 ohms/430cc-min injectors. The 4A-GZE uses 2.9 ohms/365cc-min injectors.

All information came from: www.toysport.com

hope this helps.

regards Chuck.

There are a few options, really depends on the flow rate you need. There is a lesser range in Toyota OEM low resistance injectors than with high resistance. Once you decide on your requirement, it then becomes a problem to source them. A number of the engine types didn't come here. i.e. 22 RTE 4 runner turbo engines are hard to find but have a 250cc orange / yellow injector or 295cc pink injector. Just try finding them though. Having said that, there is a guy on U.S. ebay with a set of pink 22 rte's right now. otherwise it seems everything is 200cc (3SFE, 4YE, 22RE, 4AGE [pink] etc or less. 7MGE's are 295cc (yellow) and then they go up again in limited sizes.

Other options are to use other manufacturer injectors but many don't use a toyota style fuel rail which means they don't simply bolt in. i.e. Nissan barb fittings for example.

Do a Google search and you will find a few lists of varied completeness. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/9975/dataBy Subject/Injectors.html
is quite a good one and includes the various wiring connector types.

Of course the next question is, do you really need them, but I will keep out of that one.
