tried to do a search and couldnt find anything but me and my mates are curious as to if you could put a 4AGE or 4AZE intto a AE92 Nova with the 6A-FC motor, its the 1.4lt single carb, twin cam, theres a 20valve 4age at the wreckers near me just wondering how hard the swap would be, and waht you would need for it, like gearbox, diff, etc.. also if suspension would be needed to be improved, also one last question, which type of engine would be best to search out for under the $1500 bracket, the 4AGE 16valve, 20 valve? did 4AZE come 16, 20v, whats best suited for this swap?? and how much if all labour was done by ourselves

You should really do a search. Anything that applies to the ae92 corolla applies to the nova.
This has been covered many times.

yes please search the forums it has been discussed about 137 times.
if u can do the work urself u can probably get away with it cheap ie round 2k including engine. of course this depend on how much u get the engine for but i would budget 500-1000 for shit you will need/break druring teh conversion.
suspension will be ok but new stuff is always better ie if u want the car lowered get soem quality lowered springs and some short stroked shocks to suit those springs, lowerwed springs with standard shocks will kill the shocks quite quikly.
and the 20v vs GZE debate basically ends with this =
20v for track work and reving to 8500rpm, and what a sweet sound it makes
GZE for ball tearing commodore killing traffic light hero drags. plus easier to get more power out of later ie front mount itercooler, biger super charger pulley, or drop the whole supercharger and turbo the bastard.
either way if u can get a halfcut that would be the best way to go that way u get all bits you'll need, u might even score some beter brakes. thats also a consideration teh stock brakes will be crap. U should upgrade these at the same time. brakes can be had cheaply round 200-250 for some decent ae92 sx series 2 front discs and calipers.
good luck with the conversion

I was gonna suggest that u talk to jack as he had(or has please confirm mate) a 20v nova.
If it is carby u will need a fuel pump and lines and a cut will do the rest, but if not (ie fuel inj.) the cut will be all u need. it aint too hard to do yourself (the front right hand mount will need a little hacksawing to fit) but asides that whatever u do u will have more fun. As a 20v driver (and when it was installed it was a total rocket ship) i love it, but now i am looking at rear wheel fun (ie sw20 mr2 or s2000).
if u need any tech advice or general q pm me, i have done 3 20v conversions.
the hardest part of the job is the body side wiring.
good luck
