Seller | The first new Supra to be registered in Australia by York Motors Sydney 27/3/78. 6 Cylinder TwinCam 2.8 litre, unleaded fuel injected engine (MA46). 4 speed auto with lock-up converter
|
The Engine must have been changed as I think the car orginally came out with a 4M-E. Where's Allan when we need him?
Great looking car
Cheers.

Having owned two of these, and crashing one into a ford laser and driving home i can tell you that they are damn tuff, the jap model which we get here in aus came with the 4M-EU motor (2.6l)
i have heard talk of a production run of only 500.

JAZE is right, the original engine was a 4M-EU for the MA46 (the MA45 had the M-EU).
I'm told that this car spent a bit of time here in Melbourne at Toyota tech. centre for 'product familiarisation'. I dunno when it was sold to a private owner.
JAZE, this talk of a production run of only 500, was that for just the MA46 2.6lt model? The 2 you owned; were they the MA45 or MA46 (or one of each)?
