4AGZE ECU dependence on o2 sensor

after putting the coilovers in my car and sitting it at the right height..my o2 sensor was the unfortunate victim of a pot hole..(my fault..should have put it there)..it was snapped clean off..i have taped the wires up and left it as is..i have been driving around for about 3 weeks now..including going from brisbane all the way out to Jamboree so there has been a fair bit of cruise map usage..
my fuel economy is the same..
# question..i'm not going to run into any problems if i don't connect one up? i am having the front pipe from the extractor flange to the cat redone a little higher and a flexi bit..just debating wheater or not to put another o2 sensor in there..

it's there for closed loop operation to both increase fuel economy, and ensure that at cruise it doesn't go too rich or lean,, which on long trips both could be bad..
if it works as is, and you are not having any mixture related issues, then your choice.. always a bit better to put it in tho
you could always get a bung put on, and stick a brass plug in there in case you want to put it in later (brass so it doesn't rust and sieze in the hole)

Mine had terrible idle problems when it had a dead one, you might get lucky...
You should have a check engine light on though..

AE101's are very unhappy without them. Map AE92's like yours a lot more forgiving.
None at all is a lot better than a bad one.

I ran an AFM/DLI GZE for three years without an o2 sensor in my MR2, the best I ever saw out of a full tank was 205 km (40L)
That motor's dead now, lesson learned: if you put a bigger crank pulley on your GZE, make sure it's LIGHT!!!!! My solid steel 165mm pulley almost broke the crank snout off, and irreparably damaged the crank key slot...
Go the Silvertop!

i think typical symptoms of a rooted o2 sensor are,
jumpy idle, and lean cruizing, and pinging when going from cruize to open throttle.
in my experience anyway
