Bottom end bearings Wed, 29 September 2004 12:29 Go to next message
I am working on a motor at the moment and the bearings on it are totally scorred, what would cause that to happen?
What are other side affect problems that can occur or almagmate from the origional problem?

Cheers

Oh also what is the difference in a metal and origional head gasket?

Scored bearings usually happen if the engine ran low on oil at some point.

can also be caused when they were installed originally if they werent cleaned properly and a little grit was left in there.. not uncommon on high turnover reco'd engine suppliers like higginbottoms etc.
