Pimp my ride...

I watch this occasionally on MTV, i'm sure some of you lot must have seen it. I would rename it 'Rice my Ride", they put thousands of dollars into a persons car, but only on things like bodykit, paint job, wheels and huge stereo systems.
And they got these idiot black guys trying to sound like they know cars, and they don't! Whoever has seen this do you agree? Especially that CRX last night, they put non-functional bonnet scoop and a huge GT wing on the back! Bah! That's me done anyway.
Have a good one all, Andrew

Yeh seen about 8 of them, some utes, vans, mits mirage etc. They seem to have an obsession with putting 20"+ chromies on all the cars.

True, but they did do something regarding the donk on a Baja Bug the other night.
Dont know about the suicide doors or the tv screens, but at least they chromed up the flat four, which would have to equal about an extra 10 HP

Just when they were doing the CRX, it's engine went kaput so they thought they would... wait for it...rebuild the same crappy CRX engine...oh and paint the big air filter red. They should have at least put in an integra engine or something. And what is the story with the PS2 in the boot with the 26 inch screen, you stop to play it, get beaten up and your car nicked... Just stupid!

Yeah good point ae86drift.
The black guys they use are idiots though, they are trying to act all homie and cool, and they come across as dumbasses. When the presenter was saying what they did to the engine (it was a rebuild) his going on how they replaced spark plug leads and the points etc. Nothing about the proper engine parts.
To top it of...RICE IS NOT COOL! All they are doing is letting anyone who knows cars/are car enthuasiats (sp?) have a good laugh at their expense. ARRRGHHHH! (sorry for the rant, i just get annoyed)

I totaly agree, it should be called rice my ride. I hate seeing all the money wasted on those rolling discos, and for all the money they spend , they still come out looking cheap , tacky and nasty.
Who needs a home theater system in there car? do they live in there car? no. when your in a car , maybe a nice stereo is called for but tv screens and dvd players? maybe in the back of a mini van for the kids but these cars are hardly family cars.
Its totaly retarded, should rip out all the crap they put in it , sell it and spend it on acctual HOME theatre equipment so you can fully enjoy it.

yea, the ep with the crx i was expecting them to put in a vtec since the original engine was shagged...but no.
at least they got that guy with the halfcut escort a new car, i was expecting them to just try and re-weld it together.
does anyone else think that the 'paintjob' guy looks a bit like he could be snoops brother or something

im gonna go against the trend here and say i like the show i usually laugh at what horrible shit they do to the cars (whats with the obession with pirellis and 20" chromies?)
i thought the first ep where they riced the shit out of a hi-jet was alright they put heaps of effort into it (still looked like a car from fatf threw up on it) but i really dont mind
tis good for a laugh

http://www.teambaurtwell.com/
It's the people who do all the top end customs.
the site doesn't have much at all. But they work with funk flex.
If u look you will see the west coast customs guys wear team baurtwell clothes.
That crx was awesome i think that guys loved it did u hear him ? "ohhhhhhwee"
He deserved it too .
I think they don't make them go fast because or liability(sp) reasons , but it's just a guess

I think just about any car show is good
I haven't seen many but I quite liked that little van they did up with the couch and fridge etc. I would do something like that but with a bigger van a bigger engine and a towbar!

Yeah i saw that drift show (on discovery chanel right?) They had the Apex team from Japan coz it was a proper D1 round, mmmm.... RX7
And the had some idiot saying that the GTO Pontiac could easily be the best car for drifting. I think we can all safely say it would drift like normal commodores, foot flat to the floor and into a gutter/pole/parked car you choose.
